I built PrivateTake because screen recording shouldn’t require uploading private meetings, client work, or browser activity to someone else’s cloud.

I wanted something with the editing flexibility of tools like CapCut, but built around privacy from the beginning.

Love that the timed redactions actually stay local. So many "private" tools still ping a server for processing under the hood, but keeping the whole pipeline on-device is a real craft choice, not just a marketing line.
Tried the webcam PiP recorder and it actually felt snappy, no waiting around for uploads. The all-local approach is refreshing and the redactions in Pro look genuinely useful for sharing clips safely.
