I built PrivateTake because screen recording shouldn’t require uploading private meetings, client work, or browser activity to someone else’s cloud. PrivateTake records, edits, captions, and exports video locally on your device. Your recordings never leave your computer. What you can do: - Record your screen, microphone, and webcam - Add webcam backgrounds and picture-in-picture - Hide or blur sensitive areas - Generate on-device captions - Reposition and style captions word by word - Mix microphone, system, and imported audio tracks - Export edited WebM or MP4 video I wanted something with the editing flexibility of tools like CapCut, but built around privacy from the beginning. I’d love your feedback—especially on the editor, caption controls, and what feature would make PrivateTake part of your regular workflow.
