I built Honku around a simple idea: when you’re learning a language, knowing what a sentence means is only the beginning.
Most translation tools are designed to give you the answer as quickly as possible. But as a learner, you usually want more — how to read the sentence, which words matter, what they mean in context, and how the whole sentence works.
That’s why Honku starts with a single Japanese sentence and helps you go deeper with translation, furigana, key vocabulary, pronunciation, and learning tips.
I also deliberately keep the experience focused on sentences rather than long passages. My goal is to make Japanese feel easier to read, understand, and learn from in small, manageable pieces.
If you’re learning Japanese, I’d especially love to hear what helps you most when you come across a sentence you don’t fully understand.
