Hi Product Hunt — I built GaokaoExam.org. Most people outside China meet the Gaokao as a number: millions of students, years of preparation, and one exam carrying an enormous amount of pressure. Those facts matter, but they still keep the experience at a distance. I wanted to make it tangible. The question that started this project was simple: “Could I survive a real Gaokao paper?” It sounded playful at first. Building it made me much more serious. One missing condition, mistranslated symbol, or inaccurate diagram can turn a difficult math question into the wrong question. I didn’t want to build a polished quiz on top of shaky material. So every English question is tied to reviewed source material. The translations went through two recorded machine review passes, and I personally reviewed and signed off all 21 English translations. This is still an independent project—not an official government edition or official answer key. I also didn’t want to fake certainty. Objective answers can be checked automatically, but written proofs stay clearly marked for human review instead of receiving an invented score.
