I built this because a lot of people still use sticky plastic webcam covers on MacBooks, and Apple has warned that those can damage the display when the lid closes. I wanted the same privacy idea as software: one click to block the built-in camera and mute the mic system-wide, without a physical shutter.

Does the failsafe open up automatically if the app crashes, or do I have to relaunch it manually to get my camera back?
Quick question for you on the fails-open behavior: if the app crashes or I quit it manually while the camera is blocked, does the mic un-mute right away or stay muted until I reopen the app and toggle it off?
Does the one-time license include updates, or is there a separate cost when new macOS versions ship and potentially break the camera or mic hooks?
the fails-open approach is genuinely thoughtful, so many privacy tools lock you out for good. clean solution to a real problem.
