Maker here. I built StockTrick because of one thing that kept annoying me: every stock screener shows you a ranked list and hides how it was built. You get a score of 74 and no way to know what went into it, or when it would be wrong. So the rule for the whole site is that nothing is a black box. All 30 screens print their exact criteria, and each one also prints the circumstances in which that screen gives you the wrong answer. The 140 guides are free with no account and no email, and every one has a simulator you can drag until it breaks. The risk-of-ruin one is my favourite: set a 55% win rate, so a genuinely positive edge, then push the bet size up and watch how reliably you still go broke. The part I did not expect: we ran 20 studies on 107,302 SEC 13F holdings, and one of them is an audit of our own data that concludes three of the quarters we hold are not what they claim to be. Publishing that felt bad for about a day, then felt like the only honest option. The best finding was that the standard way people read 13F filings is broken. Everyone measures the change in market value of a holding, but value moves when the price moves, so a fund that traded nothing looks like it sold. We found 102 companies where the usual method gives you the opposite of the truth. Only the share count is honest. Genuinely want to be told where the data is wrong. That is the single most useful thing anyone can give me today.
