👋 Hi Product Hunt! I'm Joshua, the solo developer behind Lectern. I originally built Lectern because I wanted an eBook reader that respected privacy while offering modern reading features. Most apps either required an account, contained ads, locked features behind subscriptions, or sent data to the cloud by default. So I spent the past months building everything myself. Lectern is fully offline and supports EPUB, PDF, MOBI, AZW, FB2, TXT and comics. One of my favorite features is the natural offline AI text-to-speech with synchronized text highlighting, making it feel like reading and listening at the same time. Other features include: 📚 Multiple eBook formats 🎧 Offline AI voices (Piper & Kokoro) ✨ Synchronized highlighting ☁️ Optional cloud sync 📖 OPDS catalogs 🔒 No ads, no account, no tracking I'd genuinely love to hear your feedback. Every suggestion helps shape the roadmap, and I'll personally respond to everyone. Thanks for checking out Lectern! ❤️
