Body Scan by Zing lets people go deeper by revealing the complete picture of their fat and lean mass, helping them build a healthier body. Body Scan identifies important metrics, like body fat percentage, then turns the user’s body data into personalized fitness and macronutrient plans to boost their progress. Users can connect their Body Scan Report to the Zing app to get custom workouts built specifically for their bodies and fitness goals! This removes the guesswork so users can make informed decisions, adjust workouts and diet, and track their progress as they go, making it easier for them to lose weight, gain muscle, and improve wellness.
Here’s a sneak peek into the way Body Scan technology works:
🤳The Body Scan requires only a smartphone camera and a full-body photo. We take privacy very seriously. Users’ data stays theirs, as Zing deletes their photos instantly and permanently. We use photos for AI training only if people give us their explicit permission, which they can withdraw at any moment.
🤖 Zing’s AI leverages machine-learning models, trained on an extensive dataset of DEXA results and paired images, to process an uploaded photo.
📊 Based on this, Zing’s machine learning predicts the user’s body fat mass with accuracy comparable to DEXA scans, the gold standard in body scanning.
📑 It then calculates lean mass index, fat mass index, and resting metabolic rate and generates a report with tailored macronutrient and fitness plans.

This looks like it's an awesome product! Although the "take a full body selfie" is a bit of a misnomer. But this is definitely a great application of AI for a process that used to be quite complicated and required special equipment for an accurate DEXA scan.
The fact that not only does the analysis and gives out the body composition info but also suggests next steps like fitness and nutrition plans... that's super dopeeee. 💪

Like it! A couple minutes to fill out the questionnaire, a couple of photos, and I've got a detailed analysis of body structure and workout recommendations.
Though the results so far differ from those I have from two smart scales (BFP is bigger here for 50%, Resting metabolic rate is bigger for 48%), it is really handy not to use other devices. I wish you good luck!

As I understand the point of camera during the scan is very important. My chest width looks different if I make the photo from the head or stomach level.
