I was tired of opening new tabs to a blank white page or some news feed I didn't ask for. So I built YuNi-tab — a browser extension that replaces your new tab with a liquid-glass search bar, rotating glow border, and video wallpapers you can upload yourself. Also pulls your bookmarks into a dock at the bottom, macOS-style.
Why I built this:
Every new tab should feel like a breath — not a billboard. I wanted something soft, airy, made of glass and light. Apple's design language, but inside your browser.

Tech: Vanilla JS, Manifest V3, IndexedDB for wallpapers. About 800 lines total — tiny and auditable.

Love the liquid-glass search box and the rotating glow border, super clean vibe. One thing that would make it stick for me though is letting users set their own video wallpapers from local files instead of only picking from the built in library, would feel way more personal.
