The idea came from a recurring frustration at my web agency — membership site owners asking "why are my subscribers leaving?" with zero data to answer that question. The only tools that existed (Churn Solution, ChurnKey) cost $1,000–$3,000/year and route your subscriber data through their servers. Not viable for a site with 200 subscribers.
