I’m Daniel — an American chef living in the UK.
World FoodDex started with one question I couldn’t get out of my head:
How much of the world have you actually eaten? 🌎
There are plenty of apps for finding restaurants, saving recipes and reviewing places. I wanted to start somewhere different: the food experiences themselves.
World FoodDex gives you 100 iconic foods from around the world. Mark what you’ve genuinely eaten and it builds a picture of your food life — your score, Foodie Type, strongest regions, blind spots and foods you’re still missing.
But completing the list isn’t supposed to be the end.
FoodDex picks something missing from your food life and gives you a new mission:
Find it. Eat it. Collect it.
You can search for the dish near you, go experience it in the real world and add it to your FoodDex.
This is an early prototype and I’m deliberately launching it before building all the things I could build. I want real people to tell me whether the central idea is actually compelling.
