Hey Product Hunt! Why do you check the weather?
I had the realization recently that we need to know the weather, because it informs everything about how we plan our day. I need to know if its going to rain because it changes what I wear, what I'm going to do after work, what activities I'll plan for the weekend, etc.
The core idea is simple: you tell Wisp what you do outside and what conditions you like, and it tells you when to go. You can also set direct alerts on specific weather conditions, and these give you advanced warning and light up your widgets. Think lifestyle specific alerts, a big one for me are my potted citrus trees I need to move indoors if its going to be below 50 degrees overnight.
A few things I'm proud of:
The daily digest is the product: Most people will never open the app every day, and that's fine. The morning notification is the main surface, by design
50+ activity templates: So you get value in under a minute. Running, cycling, gardening, "convertible top down," "open the windows," even "maple syrup tapping" for the niche crowd.
Honest confidence levels: The 3-day view shows hourly windows. The 10-day view is intentionally vague, because weather forecasts 8 days out are guesses and the UI should reflect that.
No account required: No email, no password. Just location and go.
