Wedge keeps your shelves as tabs on the edge of the screen. Start dragging a file from Explorer, the desktop or a browser and they slide out; drop it on one, then drag it into any app later. Files stay where they are, Wedge only remembers them. A pocket gathers files from different folders to drag out at once, links and text can be dropped too, and the tabs can hide away completely. Free and open source, no account, no telemetry, 10 languages.

Hi Product Hunt! Wedge started with a messy desktop. On Windows, every file I needed for five minutes ended up there: a screenshot for a chat, a PDF to attach, a few images to drop into a doc. Mac has apps like Dropover and Yoink for this; Windows didn't have one I liked. So Wedge keeps a few shelves as tabs on the edge of the screen. Start dragging a file and they slide out, drop it, and drag it into any app later. Nothing gets moved or copied. It began as a small tray app called Stash in July. Version 2 rebuilt it around the edge tabs, and 2.1 is mostly what Reddit asked for: a second monitor, tabs that hide away completely (an OLED owner's request), drops into Steam chat, and 10 languages, with Russian done by a community translator. I built it with a lot of help from Claude Code. It's free and open source. I'd love to hear what you'd put on a shelf first, and what's missing.

Who hunted Wedge?

Wedge was hunted by Sinan. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
