When I was buying my first home, I was continually checking various mortgage comparison websites and government tax calculators to determine what house price I could afford.
I wished I had some way of putting my information into a tool that would simulate how my savings would grow, particularly showing various house prices and what they would cost a month versus my rent.
After I moved into my new house, I had frequent train commutes I would spend hours killing time. I decided to put that time to use, building the tool I wish I had. It started out as simple salary entry with a calculator, and since expanded to include surveys, explanations, projections and multiple areas (homes, loans, pay, retirement).
I thought I'd share it with the hope it helps someone else. Appreciating any feedback!
