Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Mohit, the maker of Volt.
I built Volt because I was frustrated by how disconnected modern AI tools are from where developers actually execute their work: the terminal. Existing solutions felt too heavy and forced you to manually copy and paste context back and forth all day.
We set out to build something native and incredibly fast. Powered by Rust and Tauri, Volt is extremely lightweight but packs a powerful, autonomous AI agent inside.
Here’s what makes Volt different:
True Autonomy: You can ask Volt to "build an express server" and it will read your file tree, execute commands, create files, and start the server without hand-holding.
Live Error Intelligence: If a command crashes (like a Docker build or a Node script), Volt instantly intercepts the stderr output and provides a smart, inline fix.
Safe Execution: We built a "Git Checkpoint" system. Before the AI runs any complex or destructive operation, Volt automatically checkpoints your code so you can safely roll it back with one click if it hallucinates.
