I spent the last 6 months coding ViewNote to fix media tracking. It bridges the gap between movie journals and detailed TV show episode tracking. Drop your Letterboxd or TV Time data exports in, unlock deep profile statistics, customize your artwork with alternate posters, and track your watch history completely free of corporate paywalls or ads. Features no subscription gates, Postgres row-level security, and a zero-skipped-films data pipeline. Run by a solo developer.

Hey Product Hunt! I've been pouring my nights and weekends into coding ViewNote for the last half-year using Next.js 15 and Supabase. I got tired of apps hiding basic stats behind premium paywalls and treating a 10-season TV show like a single movie. With TV Time shutting down this Wednesday, I am pulling all-nighters to finalize our native archive parser tonight. It's 100% free with no ads. I am at a crossroads: should I build the mobile apps next, or shut it down? Let me know what bugs you find—I'm monitoring server logs live to push hotfixes!

really love that you actually built your own data pipeline instead of just scraping apis, the zero-skipped-films thing is such a thoughtful detail for a tracker. solo dev shipping something this focused is honestly kind of inspiring

Love that it pulls in Letterboxd exports seamlessly and the no-paywall angle is huge. One thing that would genuinely help me though: a rewatch toggle on individual entries, so my completion percentages actually reflect what I've finished versus what I've returned to. Most trackers just lump everything together and it throws off the stats. Could even be as simple as a checkbox per title.

Imported my Letterboxd export and was surprised how quickly it pulled everything in, the custom poster feature alone makes this worth switching for.

Finally tried dropping in my Letterboxd export and the profile stats were way more detailed than I expected, especially the breakdown by decade. Love that there's no paywall hiding the useful stuff.

Dropped in my Letterboxd export and was surprised how clean the stats came out. Love that there's no subscription nonsense hiding the useful stuff.
