Who hunted ViceMaps?
ViceMaps was hunted by Pravin Velmurugan. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community. Hi Product Hunt! I’m Pravin, the founder and developer of ViceMaps.
I built ViceMaps around a question: what if navigating your own city felt like exploring a game world?
The app brings seven visual styles to real-world maps:
• Sunset District — coastal colours and city scenery
• Pixelcraft — blocky landscapes and pixel artwork
• Night Grid — a dark, radar-inspired map
• Palm Coast — retro coastal styling
• Canyon Trails — a western-inspired world
• Neon Circuit — bright roads and cyberpunk colours
• Enchanted Kingdom — castles, magical scenery and animated animals
Alongside the visuals, ViceMaps includes turn-by-turn directions, nearby place search, alternative routes and Android Auto support.
There’s a shared 3-day trial to explore the styles, with individual map subscriptions afterward.
I’d love your honest feedback: which style would you use, and what would make it more useful on your daily journeys?
If you try it, please tell me your phone model and anything that feels confusing or slow. Your feedback will help me improve the next update.
Thanks for taking a look!
