I lost my job a little while ago, and weirdly, one of the things I miss most is morning standup.
Not because I love meetings 😂
I miss having somewhere to show up every morning. Seeing the same people. Saying what I’m working on. Hearing what everyone else is working on. Feeling like you’re part of something.
Building on your own can be lonely. Job searching can be lonely too.
So today I had a dumb idea: what if unemployed people still had standup?
I built Unemployed Standup in a few hours.
Every weekday at 9am CT, I’ll host a live standup. Five unemployed people get a seat and answer three questions:
What did you do yesterday?
What are you doing today?
What do you need?
Everyone else can watch, react, and maybe even help.
The first one is tomorrow morning. This is very much an experiment, and I have no idea if 5 people or 500 people will show up.
Either way, I think it’ll be fun.
