That gap is why we built Undertone. You point your phone at anything, a reference, a room, a photo, a painting, and in under five seconds it shows you the four things that actually determine whether color works:
- Palette with proportions: colors sized by how much of the image they occupy, with painter-friendly names like Payne's Gray, not "Autumn Sunset Dream"
- Color harmony plotted on the wheel: complementary, triadic, and so on, or honestly none, it will not pretend
- A temperature map showing exactly where warm and cool live, the one that finally explains muddy shadows
- Value structure: the grayscale squint every art student learns, done for you
