Almost everyone had the same story. They signed because their agent said it was fine. Or because the landlord was waiting. Or because they didn't want to look difficult. Not because they actually understood what they were signing.
The problem isn't that people are careless. It's that real estate contracts are written in language designed for lawyers, not for the people who have to live with them.
