I'm one of the makers of TrustScript - and I want to be honest about why we built this.
We were setting up review collection for a WooCommerce store and kept hitting the same wall: every plugin that did what we needed also wanted us to collect customer emails, store names, add a consent checkbox at checkout. It felt like a lot of personal data flowing through a lot of servers just to ask someone "did you like the product?"
So we asked: what's the absolute minimum you actually need? Turns out - just an order number and a one-way hashed email. That's it. Everything in TrustScript is built on top of that constraint.
The thing people are most surprised by: "no consent checkbox at checkout". Because we never collect personal data, the checkbox is just unnecessary. Your checkout stays clean. Every customer is automatically eligible. No opt-in friction, no GDPR popups.
The rest - automation, photo/video reviews, AI writing assistant, verified badges - came from building what we genuinely wished existed.
We're launching v1.0.0 today. Free plan available, full source on GitHub (GPL-licensed).
