I built TripTable after one too many trips ended with a spreadsheet nobody could open and someone quietly owed money for months. Group chats are great at talking and terrible at deciding, budgeting, and remembering who paid.
TripTable is one link you drop in the chat: ranked-choice votes with deadlines, a shared plan with a budget meter, expenses split fairly, then minimal-transfer settlement at the end.
The fun part to build was the settlement math: money is integer cents (floats never touch it), splits always sum exactly, and the transfer list is minimized. The app never moves money - it tells you who owes whom and hands off to your payment app.
