I built Trippi because I kept sitting on English-first calls where I understood maybe eight sentences in ten, and the ninth was the one that mattered.
The platforms do have translation. Google Meet keeps it on paid Workspace tiers, Teams behind Premium — both admin-bought, neither available on the account a person actually owns. So the free and personal half of the world has nothing.
Trippi captures the sound of the browser tab and runs its own speech recognition and translation on it. No bot joins the meeting and nobody is told anything, and it is not limited to Meet, Zoom and Teams — anything that plays audio in a tab gets subtitles, including a webinar, a lecture or a WhatsApp Web call.
What it is not: a human interpreter. It is machine translation of live speech, it arrives while the sentence is still being spoken, and it is good enough to follow a call — not to sign a contract on. The store listing says that too.
Paid plans start at $6 a month, and there is a way to try it before that.
