This is the first app I've ever made, so this is a nervous post.
I kept misjudging my mornings — I'd wake up on time and still be late,
because "on time" depends on traffic, not on my alarm. So I built the
alarm I wanted: when it rings, it checks the actual route to where I'm
going right now and tells me the travel time and when I'd arrive.
On iOS 26 it uses AlarmKit, which means it rings through Silent mode
and Focus and works even with the app closed, with the travel time
right on the lock screen. Getting that working was most of the project.
The honest part: I'm in Seoul, and I can only really test it here. It
uses Kakao's transit API in Korea and falls back to Google Directions
everywhere else, and I genuinely don't know how accurate those results
are in other cities. If you try it, the one thing I'd love to hear is
whether the travel time was close to reality for your commute.
