Track your citizenship-by-descent application. Eligibility wizard, lineage builder, and personalized document checklist for Italian jure sanguinis and more.
After 4+ years navigating Italian citizenship by descent (jure sanguinis), I built the tool I wish I had from day one.
The process requires dozens of documents across multiple ancestors: birth certificates, marriage records, naturalization searches, apostilles. There's no single place to track it all. Most people use spreadsheets, scattered notes, etc...
The Next Passport gives you:
- Eligibility check — answer a few questions to find out if you may qualify
- Lineage builder — map your family chain from you to your Italian ancestor
- Personalized document checklist — not a generic list, but the specific documents your lineage requires, with step-by-step guidance
- Smart prompts — answer questions about your situation (divorces, name changes, 1948 cases) and your checklist updates automatically
- Family tree visualization — see your full lineage at a glance
- Appointment tracking — consulate or court hearing dates, homework status, file numbers
- PDF binder export — print your complete checklist to bring to your appointment
The eligibility check and lineage builder are free. The full dashboard with checklist, family tree, and export is $39 per application during launch, less than a single apostille costs.
Built initially for the jure sanguinis community. Currently supports Italian citizenship by descent with more countries coming.

Who hunted The Next Passport?
The Next Passport was hunted by Ryan Warner. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
