TapVend
Cashless vending payments with no transaction fees
TapVend brings cashless payments to vending machines without transaction fees eating into your margins. Most systems charge a % of every sale forever. TapVend charges a flat monthly subscription instead. Operators install a small MDB board inside their machine, customers pay through the app, and everyone gets real-time reporting from a clean dashboard. Starts at $9.99/month. Hardware $69.99. 14-day free trial.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Hayden, one of the founders of TapVend.
The idea came from my dad's vending business — he'd been using PayRange for years and watched his cashless processing fees grow every time his machines performed well. The better his machines did, the more he paid. That felt backwards.
We built TapVend to fix that. Flat monthly pricing, hardware you own, and a dashboard that actually gives you useful data.
We're launching with support for traditional vending machines via MDB and micro market self-checkout. Happy to answer any questions about how it works or the hardware side of things — we designed our own custom ESP32-based MDB payment board from scratch.
What questions do you have?
The flat pricing model is honestly a game changer for small operators who get crushed by percentage fees. One thing that would make this even better is adding a theft and stock alert feature so you get pinged when a machine's inventory drops unusually fast or when the board loses connection. Would save a lot of late night drives to check on stuff.
honestly love the flat fee model, finally something that doesn't nickel and dime operators forever. one thing tho, would be great if the app let customers load like a small wallet balance ahead of time so the actual tap is instant. half the time i'm waiting at a machine while it processes and someone walks up behind me, kinda awkward. prepaid credits or even apple pay shortcuts would make it feel way snappier.
Honestly the flat $9.99 instead of per-sale fees is kind of a no-brainer for anyone running a few machines. Set up the MDB board last week and the dashboard actually shows real-time sales, which surprised me for something at this price point.
