Stories by Goddo
A goodnight story, in the voice that matters most.
You can't always be there at bedtime. But your voice can. Classic fairy tales read in your own voice, so your child falls asleep to the person they love most. Record a short sample of your voice. Pick a story and it’s ready in seconds. Each story costs $1. Every story you create is yours to keep. Build a bedtime library your child can play any night they want to hear you. Perfect for parents who are traveling and grandparents whose voice can still be part of the routine, even from afar.
I built this because parents told me something I couldn’t ignore.
Their kids were already talking to Goddo, their AI buddy, about things like K-pop, anime and whatever they were curious about.
And bedtime stories were just one part of those conversations.
But then parents started telling me something about those bedtime moments. They said that in those moments, they wished the story sounded like them, not an AI voice.
Usually, they’re the ones reading to their child, but on nights when they’re traveling, busy, or not home, they can’t be there to do it. That’s when they asked if Goddo could tell the same stories but in their voice.
In separate conversations, other parents brought up grandparents. Their kids love it when grandparents read to them during visits, but those moments disappear once they leave. They said it would be really special if those same stories could still be heard in a grandparent’s voice.
So I built a simple way to do that. You record a short sample of your voice, pick a story, and it’s ready in seconds. Each story costs $1 and once it’s created, it’s yours to keep.
It’s a small thing but it makes those moments feel a little more like you’re still there.
Give it a try and tell me how it feels. It does a good job capturing your voice, the cadence, pronunciation, accent, and tone and I’m continuing to improve how natural and soothing it sounds for a bedtime story.
I’m planning to add more public domain stories, let parents upload their own stories, and even give a few tries per story to get the voice just right. Would really value your feedback on how accurate the voice feels and whether kids are actually enjoying the experience.
This is a great idea! I'm sure this would be a big hit with military families or grandparents that live far away. It's not a replacement for one-on-one stories with your kids but, it's a good bridge for when someone isn't around.
I know it was hard for my kids to get to know my parents because the lived hours away but, something like this would have been amazing.
