StopBot is a real-time bot detection API suite: block malicious traffic by IP/ASN/hostname/VPN reputation, verify emails and phone numbers, and run bot-aware smart URLs — all through one API key, with a dashboard for logs, blacklist/whitelist, and stats.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I've been running StopBot — a real-time bot detection API — and decided to share it here.
It plugs into your app with one API call: send IP + user-agent + URL, get back whether the visitor is a bot and why (IP reputation, hostname blacklist, ASN/hosting detection, VPN/Tor, country, device, threat feeds — 16 detection categories in total).
Beyond blocking, the suite includes Smart URLs (shortlinks with bot detection baked in), IP Lookup, Email Validation (MX/SPF/DMARC/disposable check), and Phone Number Identify — same API key, one dashboard.
Built from years on the defensive/pentesting side — I wanted something I'd actually trust in front of my own infra.
Happy to answer anything about the detection logic or architecture.
Dropped a few suspicious IPs into the API and the ASN reputation check flagged stuff I wouldn't have caught manually. The bot-aware smart URLs are a clever touch for tracking real engagement.
It would be great if the API could return a confidence score alongside the bot decision, so I can set custom thresholds for different routes on my site instead of treating every flag the same.
