StackCards is a minimal, offline-first flashcard app built for students. No cloud sync, no tracking. Support multiple subjects including code, formulas, and vocabulary with a single lifetime purchase.
Hey PH! I’m Leonardo, a 20-year-old software engineering student.
I built StackCards because I got frustrated with flashcard apps that forced me to create accounts, deal with bloated UIs, or pay heavy monthly subscriptions just to organize my study materials.
I wanted something fast, native, and completely private. StackCards runs 100% locally on your device, supports custom themes, code snippets, formulas, and vocab, and has a generous free tier. If you want everything unlocked forever, it's just a single, one-time purchase that directly helps me fund my university studies and Apple Developer fees.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or feature requests. Let me know what you think!
The offline-first approach with no cloud sync is such a refreshing choice for a study app, especially for code and formula decks where privacy and speed matter.
Love the offline-first approach and the one-time purchase model, that's rare these days. One thing that would make this a daily driver for me: a quick keyboard shortcut system for reviewing cards without touching the mouse, especially something like swipe-style shortcuts for marking answers as correct or wrong. Would speed up sessions a lot during exam crunch time.
Offline-first is a huge plus for studying on the go without worrying about spotty wifi. One thing that would make this a daily driver for me is importing my own decks from CSV or Anki format, since I already have a bunch of cards sitting in other tools and starting from scratch feels like a dealbreaker.
the offline-first design is refreshing for studying on the go, and the formula support actually renders LaTeX cleanly which i didn't expect from such a minimal app.
Offline-first is a nice change of pace and the formula support actually rendered LaTeX cleanly on my first try. Wish the deck organization was a bit deeper, but for a lifetime purchase it's a solid pick.
the offline-first approach is refreshing, especially for studying on the go. LaTeX support for formulas alone makes this worth the one-time price.
Finally tried StackCards and was surprised how snappy it feels with no internet at all, my German vocab deck loaded instantly on the subway. The lack of account setup is honestly refreshing.
Offline-first is a huge plus for me. One thing that would make it perfect is a simple spaced repetition algorithm built in, so cards automatically surface right before I'm about to forget them.
