Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Stephaniia, the creator of ST3PH-FORTH. Modern web development has made us comfortable. We think in gigabytes and rely blindly on Garbage Collectors. I built ST3PH-FORTH to challenge this mindset and bring bare-metal discipline back to the browser. It is an ultra-lightweight, zero-dependency, Turing-complete Forth IDE and Virtual Machine written entirely in pure vanilla JavaScript. To prove its power, I built a complete retro Snake game entirely within the system's raw Forth dialect, handling physics and coordinates strictly via direct memory cell manipulation (`Uint32Array`). 🎓 **Academic Value & Systems Thinking** This platform is designed to drag developers out of high-level abstractions. It serves as a practical tooling environment that perfectly complements elite computer science tracks, such as: * Stanford CS107 (Computer Organization & Systems) * MIT 6.004 (Computation Structures) Instead of dealing with compilers that hide everything, students interact directly with a Dual-Stack Topology (Parameter & Return stacks) and manually calculate address offsets in a raw linear memory map. ⚡ The WebAssembly Bridge The open-source version available on GitHub is a fully-fledged academic playground. It validates your data stacks and automatically generates a technically valid WebAssembly boilerplate module (compiling the exact binary structure, memory bounds, and imports). The industrial-grade pipeline that compiles the actual internal application logic into production-ready `.wasm` binaries is available in the commercial version of the platform. 🚀 Let’s Build Something "Impossible" ST3PH-FORTH is a reflection of my engineering philosophy: deep technical ownership, no bloated dependencies, and absolute control over the hardware layer. I built this to show what is possible when you strip away the bloat. Now, I am looking for my next big challenge. If you are working on complex, low-level, high-performance, or conceptually difficult R&D projects that push the boundaries of what software can do—I am ready to collaborate. Let’s connect! (All my direct contacts are available in my PH profile). I’d love to hear your feedback, bug reports, or stack-juggling stories in the comments!

Comment highlights

The linear memory map approach feels really clean and the zero-dependency angle is refreshing. Curious if there's any tooling yet for debugging inside that bare-metal environment, since that part usually trips me up.
