Building Squidir because G2 wants $15-35K/year from vendors just to be visible — completely out of reach for the 34,000+ bootstrapped SaaS startups across Europe.
So we built the opposite: a directory where organic ranking is never for sale. The query that powers featured placements and the query that powers ranking are architecturally separate — we never merge them.
We pre-populated the catalog with ~500 EU SaaS products before opening it up, verified via VIES for VAT and audited server location for the EU badge, so vendors don't launch into an empty room.
Would love feedback from other EU builders on what "trustworthy" looks like to you in a directory.
Love the no pay-to-win angle, that alone makes it worth bookmarking. One thing that would really help me though: add a side-by-side comparison view for up to three tools, so I can quickly see pricing, data hosting location, and key features without opening five tabs. Would make the decision process way faster.
Finally a directory that actually flags EU hosting clearly without the usual sponsored shenanigans. The rankings feel honest and the filters are straightforward enough that I didn't have to dig through ten menus.
Would love to see a comparison view where I can stack 2-3 tools side by side on pricing, features, and data residency details. Right now it seems like you only get one product at a time, which makes it harder to actually pick between similar options in the same category.
