I'm a full-stack developer, and I built SplitSaathi after one too many flat WhatsApp fights over "who ordered what" and GST math that never added up.
Every split app I tried was built for a US/EU audience — flat tax %, "mark as paid" settlements, no real proof. In India we settle over UPI, not Venmo, and CGST/SGST needs actual line-item proration, not a flat percentage guess.
So SplitSaathi does three things differently:
1. Proof-gated settlements — dynamic UPI QR, UTR/screenshot proof, receiver confirms before balances move
2. Real Indian tax math — CGST + SGST prorated per item, multi-payer support, accurate to the paisa
3. Free forever core — no ad throttling, no entry limits (some competitors cap free users at 10/day)
