I built Solwrite because I wanted an AI mood journal that actually respects my privacy. Every journaling app I tried either sent my most personal thoughts to cloud servers for AI processing, or skipped AI entirely. I didn't want to choose between smart insights and privacy. So I built something that does both — completely on-device.
How it works: - Write how you feel → on-device AI analyzes your emotions, extracts tags, and generates insights
- Connect Apple Health → Solwrite calculates real correlations between your mood and sleep, heart rate, steps, and exercise
- Everything stays on your iPhone (or syncs privately via your own iCloud)
What surprised me most while building this: the NaturalLanguage framework on iOS is seriously underrated. No GPT API calls, no tokens, no latency — just instant, private analysis that runs offline.
