Snippbot is the operating system for your preferred AI model — a self-hosted platform where you install the agents, tools, and capabilities you need, all running on your own hardware and your own models (local ones included). Unlike one-shot assistants, its autonomous agents loop toward a goal until it's actually met. Source-available, free for personal use.

Hello everyone, I’m excited to finally introduce you to the incarnation of my brainchild. To be honest, Snippbot wasn't my initial plan. My first brainchild was building Snippai — an AI workflow platform where users could automate their creative workflows. But I needed an autonomous agent that could autonomously test all aspects of it. Basically, do the boring but critical work. I also wanted an agent that understood Snippai and then would generate workflows on its own. One prompt equals one workflow. I needed a multi-purpose agent platform that could loop and handle a range of tasks. I had looked at OpenClaw and that laid the premise of what I might need. But then OpenClaw was missing a bunch of stuff I wanted. I wanted stronger security layers and a more robust harness so I started to develop my own custom platform. That gave rise to building Snippbot, the “Operating System” for AI models. The arms and legs that AI models could use to operate on your local machine. Snippbot is the agent platform I wished existed — one you fully own, layered with security features in mind, run yourself, and can read the source. I even built a vetted package + skills marketplace (singularitymarketplace.com) so developers can extend it safely. I’m excited for what’s been developed and happy to answer any question you might have!

Comment highlights

Spent a weekend tinkering with it on an old mac and honestly the self-hosted loop agents feel pretty solid, like it just kept refining until the output actually matched what i asked for.

Spent a weekend tinkering with it on an old gaming PC and was surprised how smooth the local model setup was. The looping agents actually finish the task instead of just handing me a half-baked answer, which is rare.

Who hunted Snippbot?

Snippbot was hunted by Sai Xiong. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it.
