You built an app with Claude Code or Cursor and want it online. Run sitesolide deploy in its folder and it goes live on your server, on HTTPS, at its own address. Each app is isolated from the others, and you choose who can open it. Free and open source (MIT): you pay for the server and a domain.

Hi everyone! Like everyone else, I've built dozens of small apps with coding agents. Some are just for me, others a few people use too. Writing them is quick now. Hosting them properly was the annoying part: HTTPS, a login in front, API keys somewhere other than git, backups.

sitesolide is what I use for that. You run sitesolide deploy in a folder, or your agent does, and the app is in production on your own server, with all of that already in place. Each app runs as a sandboxed systemd service, no Docker. I measured what that saves here: https://sitesolide.fr/blog/30-apps-on-one-server.html

It's free, open source, and one person's project. Tell me what would stop you from using it for your team.

Comment highlights

The sandboxed systemd service part is what I'd want to understand first — with no Docker, what happens on a redeploy when you run sitesolide deploy again on an updated folder? Does the existing service restart in place at the same address, and do visitors see any downtime while it swaps over?

The sign-in in front of a small internal app is a useful detail. Getting the app online is only part of handing it to a few colleagues.

How does it work if the application is PHP, or some xyz techstack, without some standardisation

Hey man, thanks for this, but allow me one question: where is the advantage compared to Docker, which many apps still need for ticketing or code audits?

Who hunted sitesolide?

sitesolide was hunted by Clément Thiriet. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
