ShipCat is a complete macOS app boilerplate: licensing, payments, Sparkle updates, onboarding, permissions, AI, a landing site and a notarized release, built and tested. Your AI coding agent turns it into your app. $49, one-time, unlimited apps.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
We are the maker of ShipCat. Quick story: We wanted to ship a native Mac app, and 80% of the work had nothing to do with my idea. Licensing, payments, updates, onboarding, settings, feedback, notarization, a landing page. The same plumbing, every time.
So ShipCat is that plumbing, done, as a working Mac app with nothing in it yet. You clone it, tell the AI agent what app you want, and it turns the shell into yours. What's already there:
License keys & payments (Polar), trial/paid/freemium policies
Sparkle updates with a signed appcast
Onboarding, settings, feedback, What's New
AI built in (your proxy or the user's own key)
A landing page with pricing, privacy and terms
One command to release: archive, sign, notarize, staple, publish
Proof it works: I built GotEmail (a native mail client) on it. From empty repo to a notarized 1.0 on a live site one day, and it sold 120+ copies on day one.
Who it's for: solo devs and small teams who'd rather spend their weekend on the product than on Sparkle's EdDSA keys.
I'll be around all day. Tell me what you'd want in the box, and what you think is missing. 🐱

Who hunted ShipCat?
ShipCat was hunted by Abbas Aga. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
