Tired of spending hours reinstalling the same apps after every Windows reinstall? SetupBuilder lets you select from 96 verified apps across categories like Dev Tools, Gaming, Browsers, and Utilities — then generates a single PowerShell script that installs everything automatically via Winget and Chocolatey. No account. No bloatware. Just click, download, and run.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built SetupBuilder after getting frustrated reinstalling
the same 30 apps for the sixth time after a fresh Windows install.
The loop was always the same — open browser, find the website,
download installer, click through wizard, repeat 30 times.
4 hours gone every single time.
The fix was obvious: Windows already has Winget and Chocolatey
built in or widely available. You can install anything with one
command. So I built a UI that generates the entire script for you.
How it works:
→ Select your apps from 96 verified packages
→ Download a .ps1 file
→ follow instructions
→ Everything installs itself
No account. No cloud. The script runs entirely on your machine
and you can read every single line before running it.
I'd love to know:
→ What apps are missing from your must-have list?
→ What would make this more useful for your workflow?
Happy to answer anything about how it was built —
Next.js + TypeScript + Tailwind if anyone is curious 🛠️
