Hello Product Hunt! 👋 I'm excited to introduce SamePage today! The core idea for SamePage came from a simple problem: reading together with friends or a book club feels incredibly connected when you can leave notes and share thoughts in context. But that experience completely breaks down the moment someone accidentally reads a comment about a chapter they haven't gotten to yet. We wanted to build a social reading experience that was safe for readers at every pace. That's why we built SamePage with a Spoiler Lock—it blurs any note written ahead of your current location, so you can freely share the journey with faster readers without fear of spoilers. Here is what you can do with SamePage: Start a private reading group with a shareable code. Track your progress by chapter or page. Leave context-specific margin notes that update live for your group. Chat with our Gemini-powered AI reading assistant that restricts its knowledge to your exact progress to avoid spoilers. SamePage is live right now on iOS and Android! Because we want to keep the platform tailored for small, trusted reading groups, we are currently operating on an invite-only model. I would love to hear your feedback, answer any questions, and see how you use SamePage for your next book club! Happy reading! 📚

finally tried this with my book club and the spoiler lock actually works without being annoying. The margin notes feel really natural, like passing a book back and forth.

the spoiler lock is honestly the feature i didn't know i needed, finally i can browse comments without accidentally seeing how it ends. the margin notes feel really natural too

A small thing I'd love is the option to schedule a discussion window for each chapter, so the group knows when to jump into the margin notes together. Right now everything happens whenever someone logs on, but a gentle nudge like "the floor is open until Friday" would make the conversations feel a bit more intentional.

The spoiler lock is genuinely clever, finally a way to read at my own pace without accidentally seeing stuff from three chapters ahead. The margin notes feel cozy too.
