Rushomon is the last generation of URL shortener. It's both a self-hostable fully open-source project and a managed service with a generous free tier. It's designed to be easily deployed on the Cloudflare infrastructure and operate smoothly within the boundaries of the free tier. It's designed to be easy to use and deploy, with a clean interface and fast redirects at the edge. It has full API access for workflow automation and detailed analytics to track the performance of your links.
Hi everyone! I’m Sergio, the maker behind Rushomon, The New Kid on the block of URL Shorteners. :)
I built https://rushomon.cc because I was tired of "bloated" URL shorteners. Most tools today are either too complex, filled with ads, or way too expensive for just shortening a link. I wanted something fast, clean, and ethical.
Who am I kidding?
I built Rushomon because I couldn't resist the temptation to build my own tool :)
That said, the post-factum rationalisation of I came up with includes the following design principles.
* ⚡ Fast and Lean: Built with Rust and SvelteKit for maximum performance and minimum footprint. * 🛡️ Privacy First: No invasive tracking. Your users’ data stays private. Rushomon doesn't integrate with any third party analytics tool, and I don't plan to add one anytime soon. * 🔓 Open Source: Truly free under AGPL-3.0. No paywalls for basic features, and no "enterprise" features under a different license. * ☁️ Zero Infra Headaches: It was built it from the ground up to take advantage of the Cloudflare Workers ecosystem. You can deploy it on your account with a single script in minutes. Full control over your data and your domain.
The project is still young, and what started as an experiment has become a key tool in my own stack, while also attracting the first contributions from the community.
I've even attracted the first scammers trying to use it to conceal phishing link, which was a great test for fine tuning the moderation module.
I guess that made it a legit product.
I'm launching it early as I'd love to get feedback and input on how to make it better.
It's live, it's open, and I'd love to hear your feedback!
