Rushilo is a Mac and Windows video editor that your own AI drives. Connect Claude Code or Codex, select a clip, and say the edit: trim, split, caption, cut filler words, resize, export. Every change lands on a visible timeline you can undo. Screen recording with auto zoom on Mac, on-device Whisper captions, and direct YouTube upload. We ship no AI, so there are no credits: your subscription or keys pay. Files stay on your disk. $99 once, 3 computers.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I make a lot of product demos and short videos, and I already pay for Claude Code. It kept bugging me that the smartest editor I had access to could refactor a codebase but couldn't trim a clip.
The AI video tools I tried had the same two problems. They charge you again for AI in credits on top of a subscription, and they hand you a finished video with no way to see what changed or fix one cut.
So I built Rushilo. It's a real desktop editor with a normal timeline, and your own agent drives it through Rushilo's tools. You select a clip or a stretch of the timeline, type "tighten the intro and add captions", and watch every step land on the timeline. Don't like a cut? Undo it or drag it yourself.
What's in 1.0:
• Works with Claude Code and Codex in the built-in agent panel, plus Claude Desktop, Cursor or any MCP client
• Screen recording with auto zoom on clicks, smooth cursor, camera bubble and backdrops (Mac)
• Whisper captions that run on your computer, plus transcript editing to remove filler words
• A board to plan clips, notes and an agent chat before you cut
• Export landscape, vertical or square, and upload straight to YouTube
What we don't do: we ship no AI and run no servers in the middle. No credits, no telemetry, your files stay on your disk and your keys stay in your keychain.
Pricing is $99 once for 3 computers with updates included. No subscription.
It started as just an MCP server, so Claude Code in a terminal could drive the editor from outside. It worked, but you kept switching windows to see what the agent had done. So the agent moved into the app: your own Claude Code or Codex now runs in a panel next to the timeline, and every turn ends with a card showing what changed and one Undo for the whole turn. That card is what made it feel safe to point an agent at real footage.
I'd love to hear what you'd ask your agent to edit first, and what's missing. I'll be here all day answering questions.
Really like that the edits still show up on a normal timeline and can be undone. For a longer video, how much of the timeline can the agent understand at once?
