Top comment

I built Rumo because I wanted a video meeting platform that I could actually run myself without accounts, per-seat pricing, or depending on another company's meeting infrastructure. I started with the basic WebRTC meeting experience and gradually added things I found useful while using it: host controls, waiting rooms, recording, chat, breakout rooms, polls, whiteboards, custom branding and embedding. The project is open source and MIT licensed, so you can run it on your own server and modify it however you want. I'd love to hear what you'd want from a self-hosted meeting platform that isn't already here.

Who hunted Rumo?

Rumo was hunted by Brahmjot Singh. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
