RoamDial
Press play. Land on a live radio station somewhere new.
RoamDial drops you into a live radio station somewhere on Earth. Stations are laid out by location as a star map: drag the globe and listen wherever the crosshair lands, or hit Next to jump somewhere random. • Only streams we've verified actually play, re-tested every week • Volume leveled between stations, no sudden blasts • Identify the song, follow synced lyrics, open it in Spotify or Apple Music • Filter by genre, language, country and bitrate Free, no sign-up, no ads.
I built RoamDial because I kept wondering: what's playing on the radio right now, on the other side of the planet?
Existing radio apps make you pick a country and a genre first, and a lot of their links are dead. I wanted the opposite: press one button, land somewhere random, hear sound immediately.
A few things that turned out harder than expected: • Dead streams. A server re-tests every station every week, so random picks only come from streams that actually play. • Loudness. Stations can differ by ~30 dB. RoamDial levels them in real time so switching never blasts your ears. • Synced lyrics on live radio. Song recognition often matched the wrong version of a track, so timing is anchored to when the station's "now playing" title changes. 8 of 9 test songs landed within ±0.5s.
It's free, no account, no ads, and makes a nice background radio at work. Built with Claude Code, launched 12 days ago, and already shaped by 200+ comments from early users.
