Sometimes on Slack. Sometimes WhatsApp. Sometimes at the bottom of an email thread. Wherever we'd been talking for the last three months. And every time it felt like asking for a favour after I'd already been paid.
Then came the silence.
Not because clients don't want to help. They almost always do. They're running their own business, and my message lands on a day already full of other things. They read it, think "I'll do this tonight," and it quietly slips under everything else.
When one did come back, it was often two lines. Warm, generous, and not really about the work. Which is fair — writing a good review is genuinely hard, and I'd handed them a blank page with no prompt.
And the ones that did arrive went nowhere. A screenshot in a folder. A kind paragraph in an inbox that took ten minutes to find again. Nothing a new client could verify, because a line of text in a document could have been written by anybody.
Years of work people were happy with, and almost nothing to point a new client at.
So I built Reviewee.
One secure link per client or project. They open it, answer a few specific questions instead of staring at an empty box, and never create an account. You approve what gets published. Everyone you've worked with sits in one list, so you can see who you asked, who replied, and who you forgot.
