Hey PH, Enrique here. After years of fancy note systems (zettelkasten, commonplace book, even an antinet), the only habit that survived was five of my old Kindle highlights emailed to me every morning. Readwise does that as a subscription; I wanted it local and one-time, so I built Rereader.
Plug in your Kindle and it imports everything from My Clippings.txt, archiving the file each time (Kindles silently trim it when storage runs low — that's how I lost my oldest highlights and why this exists). Every morning: five highlights in your inbox. There's a small review mode, search, covers, and a Readwise-compatible API so KOReader syncs to it.
What it's not: no mobile app, no read-later, no article syncing. If you use those parts of Readwise, keep Readwise — this replaces the morning ritual, locally, for $19 once. 7-day refunds.
