QInsights
AI analysis for interviews and open-ended feedback
QInsights is an AI-powered workspace for qualitative data analysis. Researchers, evaluators, consultants, and insight teams use it to analyse interviews, focus groups, survey responses, feedback, and documents. I offers transcription, various ways to incorporate data context, various analysis options for different data types and workflows, results can always trace back to the source, an analysis archive for continuous analyses and team support.
Hi, I’m Susanne, co-founder of QInsights and a qualitative research methodologist.
When ChatGPT was released, I started experimenting with it immediately. I was intrigued by the potential of large language models, but at that point they were not yet embedded in qualitative research workflows.
That changed when AI features started appearing in established qualitative analysis tools, and when the first AI-powered analysis platforms entered the field. I tested several early implementations, compared them with traditional coding workflows, and was also invited to give feedback on early versions of new AI analysis tools.
What I saw was promising, but also frustrating.
Most products were trying to make AI fit into existing workflows: upload data, define a research question, generate codes, produce an answer. But qualitative analysis does not work like that. The answer to a research question evolves over time. You do not simply enter the question and wait for the result. You explore, compare, ask smaller analytic questions, inspect the data, revise your interpretation, and gradually build an answer.
I also became less convinced that using AI mainly to replicate coding is the best use of LLMs. Coding can be useful, but it is not where these models are strongest. Their real potential lies in dialogue with the data: asking questions, retrieving relevant material, comparing cases, seeing patterns, testing interpretations, and helping the researcher think.
That is what inspired QInsights.
We built QInsights as an AI-powered workspace for qualitative data analysis. It supports theme analysis, conversational analysis, grid analysis, sentiment analysis, guided workflows, teamwork, and evidence-linked outputs. Users can work with interviews, focus groups, open-ended survey responses, feedback, reports, and other unstructured data.
The principle is simple: AI should not replace the researcher. It should support a more transparent, reflective, and evidence-grounded analysis process.
I would love feedback from researchers, evaluators, UX researchers, insight teams, consultants, non-profits, and anyone working with qualitative or open-ended data.

Who hunted QInsights?
QInsights was hunted by Dr. Susanne Friese.. A “hunter” on Product Hunt is the community member who submits a product to the platform — uploading the images, the link, and tagging the makers behind it. Hunters typically write the first comment explaining why a product is worth attention, and their followers are notified the moment they post. Around 79% of featured launches on Product Hunt are self-hunted by their makers, but a well-known hunter still acts as a signal of quality to the rest of the community.
