Immersive stories with AI characters you can text or video roleplay with. It's our first time bringing real-time avatar technology to consumer scale. You can create your own characters with live avatar capability.
Hey Product Hunt! I’m Tony, co-founder and CEO of The Influence Company, the team behind Prelulu.
What if you could step into a story, and its characters could talk back?
We’re building Prelulu to make AI video stories feel less like something you watch and more like something you’re part of. You meet a character, build a story through conversation, and come face-to-face through live video.
A late-night confession. A first encounter with someone you shouldn’t trust. A romance where you decide what to say next.
We started with interactive AI stories and kept coming back to one thing: the characters are what make you want to stay. Not just what happens next, but who it happens with. That became the heart of Prelulu: stories built around characters you can actually talk to.
You can discover characters, create your own, roleplay over chat, and take the conversation into a real-time video call. Rather than choosing from a few scripted options, you bring your own words.
Today, the experience starts with a conversation. Our bigger ambition at The Influence Company is to make video stories you can live inside, not just watch.
Try a video call, and tell us: what kind of story would you want to step into first?
The way Prelulu begins with the character rather than the plot is something I appreciate. To me, that is what keeps people coming back. Congratulations on the launch!
Face to face live video with a character is a big jump from text roleplay. How does the avatar handle latency when the story takes an unexpected turn? That pause is usually where the immersion breaks for me. Congrats on the launch.
Real-time avatar tech at consumer scale is a big unlock. The UX of typing dialogue and getting immediate character response feels like a genuinely new interaction pattern. Main question: how does the character consistency hold up across long conversations? The visual fidelity looks sharp.
Creating your own character is the part I'd try first. Would be fun to give an old story idea someone to talk to.
Incredibly fun idea, I have always wanted to video chat with my characters! How do you generate video stories?
So cool!!! What is the maximum length for a story right now, and what genres can I choose from?
Most Al story apps keep the character behind a text box, so seeing them face to face does change how the story feels. would anyone like the horror version of this?
This is very cool! I did a quick chat and the latency is very good, impressive!
Looks like today is a day for games (so many gaming projects)
I really like the animation and the presentation. Best of luck with today’s launch!
Hi everyone, one of the builders behind Prelulu. We’re cooking a new idea next: a galgame-style story mode with him or her. Branching routes, choices that actually matter, and scenes that feel like you’re living the plot together, not just chatting. Still early, but I’d love to hear if that sounds fun to you.
Working on the voice stuff for Prelulu right now. One thing I really want to build next is a late-night ASMR mode. Basically your favorite character whispering bedtime stories or just chatting softly over rain sounds, without breaking character. Would anyone actually use this to fall asleep, or is that just me?
Hey everyone! We’re exploring more playful content that brings your characters to life, like having them react when you tap them, or playing a quick mini-game together.
These are still early ideas, and I’d love to hear what sounds fun to you. Which would you try first, or is there another interaction you wish you could have with your character?👂👂👂
I’d go straight for a detective story. Questioning a suspicious character over video sounds like fun. Congrats on the launch!
Wow, sounds cool. I want to set up my own character and interact with it. It would be more fun to have a live video!
I would probably start with a mystery story and see how badly my choices go 😼
The video calls are what made me click. Can I try one without turning my camera on?
