Hi,
I'm a developer from China. I left my job about six months ago to take a break, and recently I've been experimenting with AI coding assistants to build small side projects. This is one of them – a browser-based card game called PokerCheese.
It's a variation of the classic Chinese partner-based climbing game "Shengji" (Tractor / 升级), but with a much simpler rule set that comes from my hometown. I haven't seen this exact version played anywhere else, so I decided to digitize it.
The game is completely free. No downloads, no sign-ups, no ads, no in-app purchases – just open the link and start playing. You can play solo (against Bot) or host a private room for up to 4 players to play together online.
So far, my biggest (and most honest) client has been my sister – she's the reason I keep updating it. But I'd love to get some fresh eyes on it from this community.
If you have a few minutes to try it out, I'd really appreciate any bug reports, UX feedback, or suggestions on how to make the rules more intuitive for players who aren't familiar with Chinese card games.
