We built Plugin Auditor to make WordPress plugin evaluation more transparent, practical, and useful.
Choosing a WordPress plugin is often based on ratings, active installs, update frequency, or known vulnerabilities. Those signals matter, but they do not tell you enough about the actual quality of the plugin code or the risks it may introduce.
Plugin Auditor is a WordPress plugin auditing and analysis platform that runs 125 checks across security, code quality, performance, compatibility, accessibility, and privacy. It helps identify potential issues, explain what they mean, and provide useful context before installing, updating, developing, or maintaining a WordPress plugin.
We built it because, as WordPress developers, we repeatedly faced the same problem: properly reviewing a plugin required manual code inspection, multiple tools, and a lot of technical knowledge. We wanted to bring that analysis into one place and make the results easier to understand and act on.
Plugin Auditor is built for WordPress developers, plugin authors, agencies, QA teams, website owners, and anyone responsible for evaluating WordPress plugins. Developers can use it during development and code review, agencies can include it in their QA process, and site owners can use it to make more informed plugin decisions.
The platform is continuing to grow beyond individual plugin scans. We are expanding the scanning engine, improving false-positive handling and report quality, adding deeper code and behavior insights, side-by-side plugin comparisons, public plugin audit pages, scan history, and CI/CD integrations.
Our goal is not to simply label a WordPress plugin as good or bad. We want to provide meaningful technical evidence, context, and visibility so developers and site owners can make better decisions.
