Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Aleksei, the one person behind Pixly. Every Minecraft host offered my friend group the same bad deal: rent a server that idles all week, or go free and play through queues and lag. We play a few evenings a month - maybe 30-40 hours - and paid for all 730. I also wanted to stand up a world in minutes, on whatever version and mod list we'd been arguing about that night, and change a setting from a screen instead of editing files over SSH at midnight. So Pixly bills the way we actually play: • No subscription. Top up a balance and pay by the minute while the server is online, from $0.07/hr. • When the last player leaves it goes to sleep. No hourly charge while asleep - just a small storage fee so the world stays on disk. • Anyone with the address wakes it by joining - 15-30 s if it was played recently, a few minutes after days idle. Nobody has to message the owner. • Each server runs on its own machine, nothing shared, so a modpack doesn't lag because a neighbour is busy. • One switch for Java + Bedrock crossplay, one for proximity voice. Modrinth and CurseForge in one search, any loader, any version. Daily backups, 7-day restore. Most of what shipped this year came from watching real groups use it: friends bounced off the whitelist, so rejected join attempts now show up with a one-click Add; console and phone players wanted in, so crossplay became a switch; worlds nobody touched for weeks still cost storage, so long-idle worlds get packed away and unpack on the next join; Frankfurt opened in August because people asked. Honest limits: sign-in is Google only for now, three regions (Oregon, Virginia, Frankfurt), and a server that's never empty is cheaper on a flat monthly plan. About 10 hours to try, no card needed.
