A camera photo can preserve a moment without preserving where it happened. PinShot fills that gap by matching recorded GPS tracks to the original capture times of your media.
Here’s the workflow:
• Start GPS recording on your iPhone before shooting, and keep the phone with the camera.
• Back up your originals, then select supported photos or a folder on Mac.
• Match the files to the corresponding track and check a few locations before processing the rest.
PinShot supports photos, Live Photos and videos across iPhone, iPad and Mac. It writes location metadata rather than adding a visible watermark or replacing your photo library. Location data stays on your devices by default; optional iCloud sync uses your own iCloud storage.
A few limits worth knowing: you need a matching recorded track and accurate camera timestamps. It can’t recover locations for old photos without those logs, and it doesn’t directly modify proprietary RAW files such as CR3, NEF or ARW.
